Skyler Smith grew up on Bainbridge Island and has spent his career developing skills that translate directly into better tree work. Before starting Pine & Ponder, he spent about ten years in fine-dining kitchens, where attention to detail and staying organized under pressure were part of the daily routine. He later shifted his focus to physiology and personal training, which deepened his understanding of physical sustainability and how to work efficiently without cutting corners. Skyler came to tree work in 2020, learning climbing and ground-crew operations through an established tree-service company. He continued that work while completing his studies and launched Pine & Ponder Tree Service in 2024. That background shapes how the business operates: clear communication, deliberate planning around your property, and a crew that takes the work seriously from start to finish. Because Skyler grew up here and runs the business from this community, local tree care expertise is something we bring to every job, not something we market from a distance.
