Meet the Crew Behind Pine & Ponder Tree Service on Bainbridge Island

Pine & Ponder Tree Service is owner-operated and built around direct involvement from Skyler Smith. When you call or request an estimate, you are working with the same person who shows up on site, plans the job, and does much of the climbing. That level of hands-on ownership shapes how every project is handled, from the first conversation to final cleanup.

Our People

A Small, Focused Team Serving Kitsap County

Pine & Ponder keeps a tight crew by design. Every member of the team is expected to work safely, communicate clearly, and leave the property in good shape. Skyler Smith, the owner and lead climber, is a familiar face on every job. The crew is knowledgable in safe climbing and ground-operation practices, and experienced in working around structures, tight spaces, and sensitive site conditions. You will not be handed off to a subcontractor or a stranger. The people who give you an estimate are the people doing the work.

Skyler Smith

Owner and Lead Climber. Skyler was raised on Bainbridge Island and has been doing tree-service work since 2020. He came to the trade after about ten years in fine-dining kitchens, where precise execution and attention to detail were part of every shift. He learned climbing and ground-crew operations working for another tree-service company before going on to study physiology and work in personal training. He returned to climbing while completing school and founded Pine & Ponder in 2024. That background shapes how he approaches a job: organized, physically aware, and focused on doing the work right. Skyler performs much of the climbing himself and stays directly involved from estimate to cleanup on every project Pine & Ponder takes on.
